Climate activists want us prosecuted under RICO

Watts Up With That?

Losing the climate science battle, climate activists want government to silence skeptics

Guest essay by Paul Driessen

They haven’t employed the thumb screws, rack or auto-da-fe that churches and states once used to interrogate, silence and eliminate heretics and witches. However, global warming alarmists are well practiced in the modern equivalents, to protect their $1.5-trillion Climate Crisis Industry.

They see only what they want to see, and publicize only what they want us to see. They refuse to debate anyone who questions the nature, severity or reality of “manmade climate change dangers” that are the foundation of their demands that we slash fossil fuel use, lower our living standards, and accept global government planning of economies and massive climate “adaptation and reparation” payments.

They collude to hide and manipulate data, and employ computer models that that make the Little Ice Age disappear and global temperatures climb rapidly after 1950…

NCDC/NCEI’s Karl and Peterson refuse congressional subpoena on flawed ‘pausebuster’ paper

Watts Up With That?

karl-peterson

Wow, just wow. I told Dr. Tom Peterson in an email this summer that their highly questionable paper that adjusted SST’s of the past to erase the “pause” was going to become “their waterloo”, and Peterson’s response was to give the email to wackadoodle climate blogger Miriam O’Brien (aka Sou Bundanga) so she could tout it with the usual invective spin that she loves to do. How “professional” of Peterson, who made the issue political payback with that action.

Another reminder of Peterson’s “professionalism” is this political cartoon he made portraying climate scientists holding different published opinions as “nutters”, while working on the taxpayer’s dime, courtesy of the Climategate emails in 2009:

Now, it looks like Karl and Peterson think they are above the law and forget who they actually work for. They’ve really stepped in it now.

Another known unknown – volcanic outgassing of CO2

Not to mention what’s happening underwater where they emit liquid CO2….

Watts Up With That?

It seems there’s really no complete measurements on how much CO2 is coming out of volcanoes, both active and inactive.

From Livescience: Long Invisible, Research Shows Volcanic CO2 Levels Are Staggering (Op-Ed)

In 1992, it was thought that volcanic degassing released something like 100 million tons of CO2 each year. Around the turn of the millennium, this figure was getting closer to 200. The most recent estimate, released this February, comes from a team led by Mike Burton, of the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology – and it’s just shy of 600 million tons. It caps a staggering trend: A six-fold increase in just two decades.

Claim: CO2 makes you stupid? Ask a submariner that question

Watts Up With That?

From Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, something that might finally explain Al Gore’s behavior – too much time spent indoors and in auditoriums giving pitches about the dangers of CO2. One wonders though what the Navy submarine service has to say about this new research:

We try to keep CO2 levels in our U.S. Navy submarines no higher than 8,000 parts per million, about 20 time current atmospheric levels. Few adverse effects are observed at even higher levels. – Senate testimony of Dr. William Happer, here

This is backed up by the publication from the National Academies of Science Emergency and Continuous Exposure Guidance Levels for Selected Submarine Contaminants
which documents effects of CO2 at much much higher levels than the medical study, and shows regular safe exposure at these levels…

Data collected on nine nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines indicate an average CO2 concentration of 3,500 ppm with a range…

More On The Patricia Fraud

Category five hurricanes cause nearly complete devastation of everything in their path.

Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale

The damage from Patricia was not consistent with a category five hurricane. It would be very interesting to find out what that story was all about, other than more government propaganda ahead of Paris.

Strongest hurricane ever was the official government claim. Complete nonsense.

Climate Change Australia – Warmist Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull Gives Prize To Scientist For Questioning Warming Catastrophism

PA Pundits International

Bolt New 01By Andrew Bolt ~

Malcolm Turnbull, a warmist, has seen his Prime Minister’s Prize for Science go to Professor Graham Farquhar for his work on photosynthesis.

Farquhar has won for work that actually challenges the apocalyptic global warming models we’re told not to question:

ClimateChangeAustraliaProfessor Farquhar has also worked to unravel the mystery of why wind speeds and evaporation rates appear to be slowing under climate change, a phenomenon that goes against most climate modelling.

“We studied the meteorological records at all these sites and discovered from the physics of it that it was actually the wind speed going down that was causing the majority of decrease in evaporative demand,” he said.

He said the discovery meant climate change could be a lot wetter than many people realised.

That’s actually good.

In fact, Farquhar sees even more good in man-made warming:

“My reckoning is that if we could get rid…

Justin Gillis, NYT’s Climate Alarmist-In-Chief, Finds Another Dubious Warming ‘Record’

PA Pundits International

claywaterspicture-5-1426558377By Clay Waters ~

Thursday’s New York Times featured more politicized environmentalist doom-mongering from Justin Gillis, the paper’s chief alarmist, in “2015 Likely to Be Hottest Year on Record.” That’s based on temperatures in September 2015.

Gillis has made a habit of establishing “historic” warming levels and pollution records that turn out to be rather less than they initially appear.

A nine-month temperature reading wouldn’t seem the most compelling news hook, but that didn’t stop Gillis from going above and beyond the stats to work in all his usual alarmist environmental and anti-“denialist” political points, even suggesting that “civil wars” may break out in tropical countries because of global warming, while dismissing the inconvenient truth that temperature growth has stalled since 1998. Gillis’s story was unabashedly politicized from the start:

Justin_Gillis2_1Global temperatures are running far above last year’s record-setting level, all but guaranteeing that 2015 will be the…

Oops! It may not be ‘ocean acidification’ killing coral after all – common chemical found in sunscreen is poisonous to coral reefs

Had seen this reported about a month ago or so. Makes sense to me.

Watts Up With That?

From the AMERICAN FRIENDS OF TEL AVIV UNIVERSITY and the “settled science” department:

Sunscreen is proven toxic to coral reefs
Tel Aviv University researchers discover chemical found in most sunscreen lotions poses an existential threat to young corals

42-34720580

The daily use of sunscreen bearing an SPF of 15 or higher is widely acknowledged as essential to skin cancer prevention, not to mention skin damage associated with aging. Though this sunscreen may be very good for us, it may be very bad for the environment, a new Tel Aviv University study finds.

New research published in Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology finds that a common chemical in sunscreen lotions and other cosmetic products poses an existential threat — even in miniscule concentrations — to the planet’s corals and coral reefs. “The chemical, oxybenzone (benzophenone-3), is found in more than 3,500 sunscreen products worldwide. It pollutes coral reefs via swimmers who…
